(i&G – Identify an Accredited Forklift Certificate)
Are you recruiting forklift operators?
Ensure their Certification is accredited to the National Recognised Standards.
Some common guidance:
Accredited companies must receive regular monitoring from one of the following organisation’s: ITSSAR, AITT, RTITB, NPORS. This ensures their providing regulated training.
Accredited forklift training Certification will carry one of the above trademarks along with the training company’s registration number.
Confirm that the training company is currently registered and qualified to carry out the specific training shown on the operator’s certification.
If the operators Certification states “to confirm this training log on to” Beware that you are not ensuring the training company is accredited, you are only confirming that the training company has issue the Certification.
Forklift operators with a 1 day refresher qualification must have evidence of their previous qualification, the National Standards will require them to attend a 3 day training course if they do not hold their previous Certification.
Insurance companies and internal Health & Safety policies may require that all operators have received accredited training, so ensure you’re covered!!!
